Marching Band Arrangements
Wild River (Grade 2) - L. Kelley

I. Downstream
This show opens with a trumpet & alto sax solo and then into a
fast melodic section.
An optional percussion section solo is in the middle which is followed
up with a dramatic close
II. Calm Waters
This section utilizes a very familiar gospel hymn with some unique
chord changes.
III. Rapids
The final section is an excting closer with another optional drum
section solo in the middle before the strong ending.

I. The Heartland
This section starts with a depiction of the arrival at Africa starting
with the native drums. A native beat which quickly transitions into
a rapid is descriptive of animals running along the plains.
II. The Watering Hole
You can almost see the animals coming into the clearing to get a drink
of water.
III. Stampede
This closing section builds into a rapid pulse culminating with a
recapitulation of the opening theme in the final musical statement.

ominous slower section follows signaling the end of the fire and the
devastation that’s left in it’s wake. Then the opening fanfare
returns to signal the rebirth of the forest followed by a brief reminder
of the continuing threat that fire poses now and in the future.
